Feeling lost after a major life change?
If burnout, a breakup, career change, loss, or a deep inner shift has left you questioning who you are and what comes next, I can help you make sense of what’s changed and find a grounded way forward.
Between Chapters is an 8-week coaching journey to help you make sense of who you are now, rebuild self-trust, and take grounded steps toward a life that fits who you’re becoming.
You might be here because something has shifted – and it has shaken your sense of who you are.
Maybe a relationship ended.
Maybe work stopped feeling sustainable.
Maybe burnout changed what you can tolerate.
Maybe your role, identity, or future plans shifted.
Maybe you look fine from the outside, but inside you’re questioning everything.
You might be asking:
What just happened?
Who am I now?
What do I actually want?
How do I move forward when I can’t go back, but don’t yet know what’s next?
This is the space Between Chapters was built for.
When a life change becomes an identity shift
Some changes mainly need a plan.
But others go deeper. A breakup, burnout, career change, relocation, loss, or inner shift can leave you questioning who you are, what matters now, and what kind of life still fits.
This work is for that deeper layer – when the question is not just “What should I do next?” but “Who am I now?”
Hi, I’m Rob.
A few years ago, I was living a life that looked right from the outside –
a successful career, good income, clear direction.
But underneath, something didn’t feel right.
Part of that showed up through burnout and frustration with work.
But it was deeper than that.
Over time, I became more disconnected – not just from other people, but from myself. The life I was living no longer felt true, but I didn’t yet know what was meant to replace it.
Eventually, I reached a point where I couldn’t ignore it anymore.
I started questioning everything – my direction, what success meant to me, who I was without the role I had built, and what I actually wanted from life.
The problem was, I didn’t have a clear answer for what came next.
For a while, I was stuck in that in-between space –
not able to go back, but not yet clear who I was becoming.
That experience is what led me into this work.
Now, I support people who feel lost after a major life change – helping them make sense of who they are now, rebuild self-trust, and take grounded steps toward a life that fits who they’re becoming.
This work may be for you if you’re navigating:
Burnout or career change
You’re not just looking for the next role – you’re questioning who you are without the old one.
A breakup or relationship change
You’re grieving not only the person, but the future and identity you thought you were building.
An inner shift or identity change
An old version of you no longer fits, but the new version has not fully formed.
The messy middle after life has changed
Something has shifted – externally or internally – and you’re left questioning who you are, what matters, and where to go from here.
How We Work Together
My core offer is Between Chapters – a 6-session coaching programme over 8 weeks for people who feel lost after a major life change.
Together, we use a simple six-phase map of transition to understand where you are, what you are moving through, and what kind of support may be most useful now.
1. Mapping the Transition
We begin by making sense of what has changed, what feels unclear, and how this transition is affecting your identity, self-trust, and sense of direction.
2. Steadying the In-Between
We help you work with uncertainty, overthinking, anxiety, emotion, and the pressure to have everything figured out immediately.
3. Letting Go of the Old Chapter
We explore what may be ending or no longer fitting – old roles, identities, expectations, relationships, routines, beliefs, or imagined futures.
4. Finding Who You Are Now
We reconnect with your values, needs, boundaries, desires, strengths, energy, and what feels true for this next part of your life.
5. Shaping Your Next Chapter
We explore possible directions, choices, experiments, and next steps that fit who you are becoming, without forcing a perfect answer.
6. Stepping Into Your Next Chapter
We work with the fear, self-doubt, procrastination, overthinking, or old patterns that can make moving forward difficult, so you can take grounded steps toward what matters.
This is not a rigid step-by-step curriculum. The map gives us orientation, but your actual life gives us the agenda.
Why this kind of support can help
A lot of people come here after they’ve already done a lot of thinking.
They’ve journaled. Talked to friends. Read the books. Gone round in circles in their own head. Sometimes even had long loops with ChatGPT trying to work it all out.
But when a life change has shaken your sense of who you are, more thinking is not always enough. In fact, more thinking can sometimes keep you stuck – replaying the same questions, feeding self-doubt, and pulling you further away from what you actually feel and know.
When something major shifts, it doesn’t just affect your thoughts. It can affect your identity, your emotional footing, your nervous system, and your ability to hear what is actually true for you. You may feel torn between different parts of yourself, caught in old patterns, or aware that something in you is resisting the very change you want.
That’s where the right kind of human support can help.
Not by giving you all the answers, but by helping you slow down, notice what’s happening beneath the surface, and untangle what your mind, body, and emotions are all trying to show you. Sometimes that means honest challenge. Sometimes it means real care.
Often, it means both.
“When we started, I was in a super dark place, isolated, gaming all day, avoiding what I needed to do.
Speaking to Rob kept me accountable and helped me move forward. I got back in the gym, applied for jobs I was scared to go for, found closure from my previous relationship, and now I feel 10 times better.
It was calm, non-judgemental, and genuinely life-changing.”
— James, Personal Transition
“When I started coaching, I was in a very low place, burnout at work, relationship breakdowns, and struggling with depression.
Rob created a safe, compassionate space to process everything. Over time, I reconnected with myself, built sustainable habits, and came out of that low period.
I now feel motivated again, structured in my daily life, and excited about my future.”
— Sadia, Burnout & Identity Transition
“I was sceptical about coaching and self-work. Part of me thought it was all ‘new age nonsense.’
Working with Rob gave structure and language to what felt like a chaotic inner experience. Using IFS as a framework helped me integrate my ayahuasca ceremony safely and meaningfully.
It was thoughtful, grounded, and never woo-woo, just supportive, clear and genuinely helpful.”
— Matt, Psychedelic Integration & Identity Shift
Coaching in Brighton & Hove or Online
I’m based in Brighton & Hove and offer both online and in-person sessions.
Sessions can take place in private therapy rooms in Hove, or outdoors in natural settings, depending on what feels most supportive for you.
For those who prefer to be outside, I offer:
Walking sessions along the seafront and coast
Sessions sitting by the sea
Walks in the South Downs National Park
These environments can create a more open, grounded space for reflection, and often support a different kind of conversation – especially when life feels uncertain and you need room to make sense of what is changing.
